The Volkswagen Cross Polo is a stylish, elevated subcompact crossover based on the standard Polo, offering a more rugged aesthetic with a 15mm higher ride height, plastic cladding, and a premium cabin. It provides a comfortable. Though it is front-wheel drive equipped with a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine, it hits 100km/h in approximately 9.8 seconds, making it feel "lively" for urban environments.

Around the cabin there is plenty of little storage compartments, all of which are quite useful. Rear passenger legroom isn't overly generous, although ingress and egress isn't an issue. The boot has quite a wide aperture and although it might not be huge at 280 litres, it does make getting larger objects into it that bit easier. The rear seats can also be folded down easily to expand cargo capacity to 952 litres.

The CrossPolo's design is both eye-catching and sophisticated in a way that will no doubt appeal to the young or the image conscious. It is a well-built cool car that is fun and easy to pilot, even in tighter spaces. It may be short on equipment but it's a no nonsense type of car that does not trade features with its drivability.
