What the Aqua's interior with functionality and a clean design, fit and finish are generally unfaultable. Some contrast is added courtesy of a gloss black lining running across the dash. This is achieved through Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive system, which combines a 1.5-liter petrol engine with an electric motor and regenerative braking. The system allows the car to run on electric power at low speeds and during deceleration, optimizing fuel consumption, especially in city driving.
