Beneath the C-HRs arresting design, which looks better in the flesh, is an all-new group architecture that underpins the and gets its first crossover use here, replete with sophisticated double wishbones at the rear indicating a performance bent.

The C-HR crossover handles well, with a smooth and cosseting ride matched to damping that helps the car recover after hits and undulations, rarely losing its cool. In other words, its soft but has good body control.

So far, so good. But where the Toyota steps up its game further is inside. Here you have an appealing cabin design, with a tactile leather steering wheel, excellent material quality including lovely soft dash pads and a diamond-patterned door inlay, a driver-oriented fascia, digital trip computer and respectable storage solutions. It feel premium-ish.

The C-HR comes with a Hybrid power train which mixture of a 1.8L petrol engine and an electric motor. The engine produces 91 kW (122 bhp) and 142 Nm of torque, while the electric motor adds more power and provides the driver with that immediate push from its torque that is fully available at any revs.

The Toyota Safety Sense package has earned high praise from drivers and industry experts alike, and its not difficult to see why. The state-of-the-art safety features can track movement in your surroundings, and can even intervene to prevent collisions.
Pre-Collision System uses a camera and laser beam to detect the vehicle ahead. When the system determines there is a possibility of collision, it prompts the driver to take evasive action and brake by using an audio and visual alert. Lane Departure Alert uses a camera to detect visible white and yellow lane markings in front of the vehicle and the vehicles position on the road. Automatic High Beams is a safety system designed to help drivers see more of whats ahead at night time without dazzling other drivers.
