The design elements come from former-Audi designer Peter Schreyer's KIA revolution. When you have the likes of Schreyer you begin to see why the Sportage looks so good. Kia spent some time tuning the suspension for Australia/New Zealand roads and it shows, with a smooth planted feel that's not unlike a BMW. The Dynamax all-wheel-drive system is the latest of its kind and more advanced than that in the ix35. On the axis of sport-to-comfort Id say the Sportages ride sits slightly to the sportier end of the equation. Its a stiffer ride than the Honda CR-V, Nissan X-Trail, or the new Toyota RAV4, for example. Yet it seems to strike a more comfortable balance than the sporty CX-5.
